Throughout her career, Dr Sahu has been an active contributor in research in parallel with her clinical commitments. In 2007, she held a Fellowship at University College of London, which resulted in various publications in peer review journals.

Trials

Perioperative Quality Improvement Programme(PQIP) (Ongoing)- Co-investigator in this trial to measure complications, mortality and patient reported outcome from major non-cardiac surgery.

Covid-Surg- Cancer-(2020-2021)- Principal Investigator for Gynaecological cancer at Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust. This is a prospective study to look at the impact of COVID-19 on cancer care.

New markers for ovarian cancer – (2019-2020)- Principal investigator for this study at Princess Royal Hospital.  This is a prospective study to investigate new biomarkers for diagnosing and treating ovarian cancer.

FOAM study (2016-2019) – Principal investigator for this study at Princess Royal Hospital.  FOAM is a phase III, multi- centric, randomized controlled trial designed to determine whether folic acid supplementation improves the frequency and severity of hot flushes in postmenopausal women, either healthy women or breast and endometrial cancer survivors compared to placebo.

EPIVIN Trail (2015-17) –  Principal investigator for this study at Princess Royal Hospital. This is a phase II clinical trial investigating the use of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (Veregen) in the treatment of vulval intraepithelial neoplasia

PITCH (Pregnancy Intervention Trial in Cholestasis) (2009-10)– Local coordinator of this trial at Kings Mill Hospital. This was a multicentric randomized double-blind trial of ursodeoxycholic and/or early delivery for obstetric cholestasis.
